Coyotes report: Notes, quotes
--Rookie LW Daniel Carcillo went past the 300-minute mark in penalties. With 308, he's second in franchise history (Coyotes/Winnipeg Jets) to Tie Domi, who compiled 374 in the 1993-94 season.
Carcillo tried to get his team fired up shortly after it fell behind in the first period. He fought with Brian Sutherby and pummeled him before knocking him to the ice, bringing down the house.
--In third period, LW Shane Doan missed a partial breakaway, and RW Radim Vrbata, whose scoreless streak reached 14 games, failed to convert on a breakaway.
Vrbata and Doan assisted on Jovanovski's goal.
The key penalty came with about midway through the third period when a high-sticking double-minor was called on D Keith Ballard, giving the Ducks a four-minute power play, which resulted in the game-winning goal.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"I thought we played a real solid hockey game. I was very proud of the fact -- not so much we had a lot of chances -- I was really impressed by the commitment that the players made for the defensive side of the puck." -- Coach Wayne Gretzky.
