Based on what I've seen thus far this season it's looking more and more like Varly is the number 1 in Caps town. Another stellar performance turned in by the 21 year old net minder tonight against the Sabes at the Phone Booth. He seems to be getting better and looking a lot more comfortable with each new start.
Nice game by the Caps tonight on Turkey Day Eve!! They ne

Is this kid great or what?!? Absolutely should remain on the team for the season. He brings speed that most of our guys don't have, is aggressive on the forecheck, and sets up some great scoring opportunities.

Why is it that when were #1 in the Eastern Conference there is no talk of us winning the Stanley Cup and when the Pens are #1 their fans act like they've won the Cup already. I was just wondering if this was just me or does anyone else see what I am saying?

The Caps have a lot of very good forwards right now, and I'm curious who people hope to see (assuming full health which probably won't be the case) when it gets down to the end of the season and the playoffs.
The following guys are probably locks for the roster - Ovechkin, Semin, Backstrom, Flash, Morrison, Knuble, Laich, Steckel, and Bradley. That leaves the following: Lai

And the beat goes on.......another good outing for the caps tonight vs the Wild. I hope OV doesn't rush back too soon the way the team is playing without him. He should take his time and get fully healthy, maybe skip the NJ game tomorrow. I hope the secondary scoring is able to continue at this pace once OV returns, the caps will be nearly

but here comes Carlson! He was called up today with Jurcina and S-Mo out. I hope we get to see some of him this weekend. I'm really excited to see what he can do.

The Caps' D did a solid job after the first period and Varlamov did not have to do much in regulation and OT to allow the Caps to catch up in this one. But in the shootout, Varlamov was absolutely sick. A number of solid fakes and moves from the Islanders forwards, and yet he stopped TEN straight penalty shots to get the Caps' t

Anyways Caps fans, Michael Nylander has cleared waivers and remains a Capital for the time being. However, he has waived his no trade clause as well, which could indicate there is something in the works to get Nyles out of a Capitals sweater, and sometime soon at that

Ok I thought I got it but i must not. Tonight the Capitals won 7-4. Only 1 of the Capital goals was a PP. So even strength they won 6-4. Nobody on the Capital team has a plus rating, and nobody on the Panthers has a minus. Knuble has 2 goals and 2 assists and is minus 1. So he was on

Ok, I have a question. Why is Karl Alzner not on the roster and "i look like a giraffe on skates" Shultz is? I questioned this in the playoffs last year when defense was clearly our Achilles heel. Is he hurt? Did he not have a good off-season? What's the deal?

Last night's 4-3 win against Atlanta is another example of a game where the Capitals had it well in hand and then let the Thrashers get back in the game. Varlamov was bombarded and the offense barely sniffed the opposing net for a long period mid/late game. This has be
