--LW Alex Ovechkin returned with a flare by scoring two goals. He'd been out for two games following a suspension for a kneeing penalty.

--LW Tomas Fleischmann continued his strong early season run with assists on the team's second and third goals. He's now got seven for the year and keeps on becoming more of an offensive force for the Caps.

--RW Alexander Semin continued his recent hot streak with two assists. He's been a very streaky player throughout his career and is on a roll right now.

MEDICAL WATCH

--RW Mike Knuble (broken finger) had surgery last month.

--RW Boyd Gordon (back) is considered day-to-day.

--LW Quintin Laing (broken jaw, surgery) will be out until mid-December or later, a total of 4-to-6 weeks overall.
