United States rolls to gold medal final in Women's volleyball

It wasn't supposed to be this easy for the red, white and blue but sometimes it just works out that way. Although South Korea put up a fight in the semifinal, Team USA earned an impressive sweep to return to the gold medal game with their eyes squarely on the prize.

The two teams went back and forth throughout much of the first set before the Americans took control and never looked back, never letting the Koreans get within three points the rest of the set. The remaining two sets were competitive but the eventual winners never seemed to lose control of the match before winning four of five points to close out the third set.

Destinee Hooker led the U.S. with 13 kills and three blocks to top Kim Yeon-Koung equally impressive stat line.

Team USA awaits the winner of the semifinal between Brazil and Japan, having beaten the former in group play already this tournament. The Olympic gold medal final will be Saturday.
