Already we have seen Jonathan Quick's mask for the Sochi Olympics and the one 2010 USA starter Ryan Miller will wear too. But don't forget about the third goalie who will be in Sochi for the red, white and blue: Red Wings netminder Jimmy Howard.
His mask isn't completely ready to go yet but it's getting close and some images of the mask in the works made their way to MLive.com's Dana DeFever and Jake May. It's looking sharp!
The mask, designed and painted by artist Ray Bishop, features a blue base with white stars, USA on the chin (which has been painted red) and one massive bald eagle on the top of the helmet. It's pretty sweet.
OK, we take back the pretty sweet part, that's badass. You can imagine it's only going to look better when it's completely finished.
Speaking of American goalie masks, why don't you visit United States of Hockey and check out our Chris Peters' trip through the history of American goalie masks at the Olympics, it's well worth your time.
