Fans in the San Francisco Bay Area that couldn't get to a TV had KNBR-AM to rely on to follow the action of Saturday's thrilling win for the U.S. hockey team over Russia at the 2014 Olympics. That was until overtime caused the game to run over its allotted time.
Per tweets from some very angry listeners, the station cut off the game in overtime for the “Hooked on Golf” show. That's a rough one.
Here's a sampling of some of the outrage via Awful Announcing:
Meanwhile, the station's Twitter feed didn't have any answers for listeners.
So listeners missed the overtime and the incredible eight-round shootout in which T.J. Oshie scored on four of six attempts and that means they also missed Steve Goldstien's radio call of, “Oshie can you see.”
Bright side, though, they may have learned what's wrong with their short game.
The station's Twitter accound did provide some updates, but one listener wasn't impressed.

Though we live in a digital age where everything can be streamed pretty easily, some people still need the radio as their only outlet to follow along. The fact that a game that has caught the attention of the country as much as this one seemed to get trumped by a show about golf, that maybe a lot of people enjoy, is rather unfortunate for the people who were hanging on just like those watching.
