There are few more appropriate ways to honor a figure skater than to make his image out of ice.
American Jason Brown had the honor bestowed upon him half the world away, in his hometown of Highland Park, Ill. Brown, 19, finished ninth in the men's singles program this past week in Sochi. He's got a big career ahead of him, it would seem, and with his ponytail look, carefree air and penchant for skating to Prince -- while wearing Prince-style swathe -- he's already an American favorite to many.
The sculpture is reportedly 10 feet tall.

Gotta love Brown. His Twitter feed is proving that he's having as good a time over in Sochi as anyone. Congrats to him; this is some of what the Olympics really means to many who work for four years to enjoy the spoils of the trip.
Had the best time taking my family around the athlete's village 2day! So lucky they're here 2 experience it with me! pic.twitter.com/ooXQzUzXjJ— Jason Brown (@jasonbskates) February 15, 2014
