WATCH: Mikaela Shiffrin watch party briefly derailed by commercial
Brief commercial interruption freaks out Mikaela Shiffrin's watch party.
American teenager Mikaela Shiffrin won gold Friday, becoming the youngest slalom Olympic champion.
The 18-year-old's family back in Massachussetts gathered to watch the historic -- and super-tense -- moment, but Mikaela's final run was briefly interrupted by a commercial on NBC's live stream.
WNYT13 was on hand for the emotional scene, and watch as the group sort of awkwardly laughs and sits in shock as the commercial plays. Good stuff.
It all worked out in the end, though, as Shiffrin's final run proved victorious, and there was much rejoicing.
