MONTE CARLO, Monaco -- About 60 athletes, coaches, medical experts and anti-doping officials met with track and field's governing body to coordinate the fight against doping and steroids.
The International Association of Athletics Federations said Sunday's meeting marked the first time the five groups had met together. IAAF president Lamine Diack said the meeting was "to discuss what more we can do in the fight against doping".
Two task forces were set up to examine doping and nutrition. The groups will report to the IAAF Council, which meets April 9-11 in Qatar.
"The point was for all parties to get together," IAAF spokesman Nick Davies said Monday. "Nothing was decided that is changing anything, but it was more to have a forum of the stakeholders to allow everyone to express themselves."
