Safety LaRon Landry played in just eight games in 2011 and nine in 2010, and twice ended those seasons on injured reserve after his left Achilles tendon didn't respond to treatment. His inability to stay on the field probably means that the free agent won't return to the Redskins, the team that drafted him sixth-overall in 2007.

Whatever professional fate awaits the former LSU star, this much is certain: Landry's not sitting around bemoaning his misfortune. He's working out. A lot.

                                                                                      (Twitter)
On Thursday, D.C. Sports Bog's Dan Steinberg posted two photos of Landry, who looks huge. So huge, in fact, that our initial reaction was "When did Landry get his picture taken in front of a funhouse mirror?"

(Judging by his photo stream, he doesn't own many shirts. Then again, look at him. Off-the-rack clothes don't fit.)

This isn't the first time Landry's physique has been a story. In August 2010, Steinberg first mentioned it, that spawned The Official LaRon Landry's muscles are huge" thread on a Redskins message board, and now you, flabby girly man, can attempt his workout too.

Last December, after Landry landed on IR for the second time in as many seasons, head coach Mike Shanahan said “(In 2010), in the first nine games that he played, he should’ve been player of the year — I think he would’ve been defensive player of the year. But he hasn’t been able to stay healthy.”

Landry looks plenty healthy in those photos. Whether that means he's healthy enough to endure an entire NFL season is another matter entirely.

Anyone notice how his facial features are more pronounced since 2007? It's almost like his head has gotten bigger. I'm not accusing him, just stating an observation. His head and fae in 2007 just appears alot thinner and less pronounced.

Dude, give it a rest. Stop trying to defend what is ultimatly obvious. The guy is juicing, plain and simple. He's going down that road that killed the careers like David Boston. He paid for a good chemist that can manipulate HGH, or hide steroids the best from detection. If you think you can get jacked like that, this quick naturally?! Then you'd better be coming out with a freaking training DVD, cause you'll put P90X to shame!

But just remember. no matter how big or small you get, you'll still be this egotiscal, rude, jack off that everybody thinks when reading your blog. That will NEVER go away....Happy Jucing!

Its always funny to hear people go straight to roid talk. I know its hard for most this day in age with all the fat lazy people running around, but you can look like this with good nutrition and dedication to the gym with a side of motivation. And no its not going to happen over night even on roids. You cant just take roids and expect to wake up yoked it just dont happen that way. Theres no over night get ripped pill you can take. I know you fat people like to think that and jump to conclusions because someone has the dedication to themselvse that you dont so you bring them down so yes you actually have to get off the couch stop playing video games and workout freakn do something oh and stop eating double cheese burgers and fried chicken every meal.

Being a safety, that is probably not ideal for him to put that much bulk on.  I would understand if he was a linebacker.  If I was the Redskin training staff, I would ask him to cut some of that down a bit.

re: LaRon Landry is very, very muscular

The injury problem with LaRon is more than likely based in nutrition than in anything else. I wonder if he's so worked up/out that the tendons that are getting repeatedly injured aren't having the time to heal properly. Of course time helps, but given that the gladiators that are professional athlethes don have time, then he should look into making sure he's getting the right Omega-3 and mineral balances into his diet that will allow for him to properly use the obvious protein/Creatine/inosine he takes to build up muscles. He might never read this ro even this web site but he and any fitness folk should look up Life Extension web site for their research in proper nutrition.

you people get a life !!!  they clearly show his progresion since 2007.  he has only proved that if your consistent at pumping iron for 5 years this is what you will look like.  If he was roiding it he would be that size in 1-3 years.

What they fail to mention here is that every team in the league is going to double test him for PED's. I mean I can give credit to anyone with the motivation and drive to get to his point, but does this guy sleep in the gym? wow is all I can say about this. If it's natural I capitalize it WOW

Talk about hard work in the weight room.  Wow.  The guy looks bigger than many NFL linebackers.  The question is, does all that muscle mass affect his flexibility and speed.  At 6'0 he is not likely to transition to linebacker. I also doubt he is tall enough for entertainment wrestling. I also doubt he juices.  The talk about his workouts is off the top.  He does not do any short cuts.
