Bills announce seven inactives for Sunday

The Bills seven-player inactive list for Week 2 is as follows: defensive backs Ross Cockrell and Jonathan Meeks, running back Bryce Brown, linebacker Keith Rivers, tight end Lee Smith, and offensive linemen Cyril Richardson and Cyrus Kouandijo.

Bills defensive backs Aaron Williams (head) and Stephon Gilmore (groin) were able to play through their injuries Sunday against the Dolphins, but other members of the defense weren't so lucky.

Linebacker Keith Rivers (groin) and defensive back Jonathan Meeks (neck) were both inactive for Week 2 with their injuries.

Among the four Bills defenders on the injury report for Week 2 against the Dolphins, only two are expected to take the field.

Defensive backs Aaron Williams (head) and Stephon Gilmore (groin) are both probable for Sunday's game, while Jonathan Meeks (neck) is doubtful with after being limited through the week. Linebacker Keith Rivers has been ruled out after failing to practice throughout the week with a groin injury.

The Bills provided updates on the status of two injured defenders Monday, though they could not provide much in the way of details. Linebacker Keith Rivers, who left Sunday's game against the Bears with a groin injury), and defensive back Stephon Gilmore, who missed the game with a groin injury, are both considered day to day at this point. The team will have more information on their availability for Week 2 against the Dolphins on Wednesday's team practice.

Bills linebacker Keith Rivers suffered a groin injury Sunday and will not return to his team's game against the Bears, the team announced. Rivers had three-and-a-half tackles before coming out of the game.
