Falcons sign Tony Moeaki due to depth concerns at TE
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Tight end Tony Moeaki was signed by the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

With Jacob Tamme (concussion) still recovering in the wake of a Week 4 absence, Moeaki could serve as the No. 2 tight end behind Levine Toilolo in Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins .

A third-round draft pick back in 2010, Moeaki has struggled with injuries throughout his career, and he no longer possesses the high-end athleticism he had upon entering the league.

The Falcons announced they've signed tight end Tony Moeaki after earlier announcing the signing of tight end Jacob Tamme. Moeaki, 27, played in six games for the Seahawks last season, catching eight passes for 134 yards and a touchdown.

He hasn't made a big impact since 2012, when he had 33 grabs for 453 yards and a touchdown with Kansas City. Moeaki and Tamme join Levine Toilolo in Atlanta's tight end group.

by R.J. White |

Seahawks starting right tackle Justin Britt (knee) and safety Jeron Johnson (elbow) are questionable for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Packers.

Britt missed practice on Wednesday and practiced in full Thursday before participating in a limited fashion Friday. He'll be a gametime decision, and Alvin Bailey will be plugged into the starting lineup if Britt can't go, Pro Football Talk reports.

The team had four players listed as probable to face the Packers, including tight end Tony Moeaki (calf), center Max Unger (ankle), defensive tackle Tony McDaniel (shoulder) and cornerback Tharold Simon (illness).
