Patriots' Gronkowski visits Red Sox camp

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski isn't playing for the Red Sox this season, but he visited his baseball brethren at the team's spring training complex in Fort Myers, Fla. on Wednesday, according to NESN.com report.

Gronkowski, who used crutches during the visit, spoke with Jim Rowe, the Red Sox medical operations coordinator.

"Had a blast in Fort Myers with my family," Gronkowski said Wednesday via twitter. "Meet (sic) a lot of great people too in the area! Now time for my flight, cya!"

The Patriots' tight end was played through a left ankle injury in Super Bowl XLVI, which may have cost him on a failed last-second lunge at Tom Brady's Hail Mary pass in the end zone. The Boston Globe reported that he had surgery earlier this month, and was expected to be ready for training camp.
