SAN DIEGO (AP) -Chargers tight end Aaron Shea was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a back injury and will miss the rest of the season.
He was replaced on the active roster by safety Andre Lott, who returns after being released during the final cutdown to reach the 53-man roster limit.
The Chargers also released quarterback Brett Elliott from the practice squad and replaced him with tight end Kelly Griffeth, a rookie from Fort Hays State. Griffeth also was released by the Chargers at the final cutdown.
