Argentina's Canas claimed his first Masters Series in Toronto last week, with wins over Switzerland's Roger Federer, Russia's Yevgeny Kafelnikov and Marat Safin, Germany's Tommy Haas and USA's Andy Roddick in the final.
2 Andy Roddick -
Roddick reached the final in Toronto, one week after he lost to Jan-Michael Gambill in the semis in Los Angeles, Calif.
3 Tommy Haas -
Germany's Haas lost to Canas in the semis in Toronto, 7-5 in the third set tie-break. He beat Sampras in three sets and two tie-breaks in the third round.
4 Andre Agassi -
Agassi took a week off, pulling out of the Master Series in Toronto, after he'd won the Mercedes-Benz Cup in Los Angeles.
5 Jiri Novak -
Czech Republik's Novak lost to Roddick in the semis in Toronto. Novak also reached the semis of the Australian Open, in January.
6 Jan-Michael Gambill -
Gambill defeated Roddick in the semis in Los Angeles, before losing to Agassi in straight sets in the final.
7 Marat Safin -
Russia's Marat Safin, who won the U.S. Open in 2000, lost to Canas in the quarterfinals in Toronto.
8 David Nalbandian 2
Argentina's Nalbandian who is having a very consistent season, culminating at Wimbledon where he reached the final, lost to Andy Roddick in the quarterfinals in Toronto.
9 Fabrice Santoro -
France's Santoro has been on the Tour for more than 10 years, and although he has never won a major event, he remains a very tough opponent. He lost to Haas in the quarterfinals in Toronto.
10 Sebastien Grosjean -
France's Grosjean lost to Novak in the quarterfinals in Toronto, which is one of his best results this year.
