COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -- Jovan Kirovski scored on a penalty kick in the 44th minute, and the Colorado Rapids snapped a five-game winless streak with a 1-0 victory against Toronto FC on Sunday night.

The win kept the Rapids' playoff hopes alive.

Colorado (8-12-8) was short-handed after Mehdi Ballouchy was ejected in the 36th minute for fouling Carl Robinson for his second foul of the match. Pablo Mastroeni was ejected in the 88th minute after receiving his second caution.

But it didn't matter against Toronto FC (6-16-6), last place in Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference.

Kenny Stamatopoulos made four saves for Toronto FC, while Bouna Coundoul stopped three shots for Colorado.
