EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Mike Magee had a goal and an assist and Juan Pablo Angel scored his sixth goal in as many games as the New York Red Bulls beat the Houston Dynamo 3-0 on Sunday.
Goalie Jon Conway had four saves for his second straight shutout and sixth of the season as the Red Bulls (8-6-7) won their third straight. The defeat snapped a four-game winning streak for Houston (8-5-8).
Angel gave the Red Bulls the early 1-0 lead when he took a crossing pass from Dave van den Bergh in the sixth minute and beat Houston goalie Pat Onstad with a header. It was Angel's eighth goal of the season.
New York boosted its lead in the 27th minute, when Seth Stammler sent a long pass ahead to Dane Richards, who beat Dynamo defender Wade Barrett to the ball and fired a shot past Onstad for his first goal of the season.
Magee sealed the win with his fourth goal of the season -- and third in as many games -- when he took a long pass from Diego Jimenez and beat Onstad with a left-footed shot in the 60th minute.
