How to watch Dundee United vs. Rangers

Date: Saturday, Aug. 8 | Time: 7:30 a.m. ET
Location: Tannadice Park -- Dundee, Scotland
TV and live stream: CBS Sports Network | Replay: Paramount+
Odds: Dundee United +1200; Draw +450; Rangers -400 (via Caesars Sportsbook)

Rangers: The defending champions took care of business in the opener at the Ibrox with a resounding 3-0 win over Livingston, but fell short midweek in a 2-1 defeat to Malmö in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League third round qualifying match in Sweden. That makes this particular matchup extremely tricky as Gerrard's squad will want to turn that tie around at the Ibrox in a few days. Gerrard told reporters that Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos are available to come back to the group, but you'd have to imagine those two players will continue to rest for the midweek tie.

Dundee United: Last season when these two met at Tannadice Park, we saw a more dangerous Dundee United squad as they kept the score tight, thanks to Liam Smith's goal in the 33rd minute. They only lost 2-1 compared to the two times they conceded four to Rangers at Ibrox. Expect this to be a little tighter as Rangers have one eye on their midweek match.

Prediction: Rangers finished the last league season without a loss in 38 matches (six draws) and we don't envision the visitors coming up short here. We're going with the same score as last time out at Tannadice Park.  Pick: Rangers 2, Dundee United 1
