Top goal

In Seattle’s 1-1 draw with San Jose, Uruguayan international Nicolas Lodeiro gave the Sounders the lead with six minutes to go off a free kick, but he didn’t take it. Clint Dempsey took it but it hit the wall, and Lodeiro did this with the rebound. Golazo.

Winter never left

Real Salt Lake drilled Vancouver 3-0 on Saturday night, and it did so in snow storm. There wasn’t much snow falling in the opening 45 minutes, but by the second half the pitch was covered and the orange ball made another appearance this season. Snow and soccer doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s a beautiful thing for spectators. 

Game of the week

Toronto and Atlanta got together and played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in a match filled with chances. Two serious contenders in the east, the match was back and forth and finished even despite both teams having chances to win. Here are the highlights:
