The first month of MLS is almost over, but there were just three matches this weekend due to the international break. Here are the scores and what to know.
Scoreboard
Saturday
New England 5, Minnesota 2
New York Red Bulls 0, Real Salt Lake 0
Columbus 3, Portland 2
Minnesota loses again
As we touched on Saturday, Minnesota is really struggling in its first season. Three losses out of four to start the season with one draw, and 18 goals against. The team is on pace to break the goal against record of 69 goals -- in fact, if the current pace holds it will double that mark.
Columbus gets late win
The Crew moved into a tie for first place in the east with a 3-2 win against Portland, coming back from 1-0 down thanks to Niko Hansen’s late goal. Here’s the winner with less than 10 minutes to go:

Red Bulls a bit fortunate
The Red Bulls are tied with the Colombus Crew for first place in the Eastern Conference with seven points. What’s wild is that they have done so with just two goals of their own. Four goals in four games, including two own goals, somehow sees the team with a 2-1-1 record. The team has only conceded four goals in the process.
If they get going in attack, watch out.
