On Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors topped the Memphis Grizzlies and accomplished a record that seemed to be unthinkable by NBA zealots. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green & Co. surpassed the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen for most wins in a single season (73).

Several hours before that game, Champions League title favorites Barcelona crashed out of the competition in disheartening fashion with a 2-0 loss to Atletico Madrid at Vicente Calderon. Despite the loss, Brazilian star Neymar still took the time from licking his wounds to call one of his buddies at Oracle Arena.

From ESPN's Marc Stein:

[...] Or maybe craziest of all, when all the probabilities are computed, was the time Warriors vet Leandro Barbosa motioned to me from across the practice floor, cupped his hand to his ear to signal a telephone conversation, and shouted: "Neymar called me!"

That's right.

Turns out that the Brazilian third of the greatest modern triangle offense going -- Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar -- needs his Steph updates just like the rest of us.

"He calls me a lot," Barbosa said.

These are the sorts of things that happen in the Warriors' world, even when you're just an outsider trying to chronicle it all. You see and hear things that, even in this wacky NBA, you simply never thought possible.

It appears as if Neymar has a great relationship Leandro Barbosa, which is cool since the two Brazilians will likely run into each other during the 2016 Rio Olympics this summer. However, I wonder how often he brings up Curry's name in those phone conversations with Barbosa. Is he friends with Barbosa to get closer to Curry? Who knows. What we do know is that Curry and Barbosa both wished him a happy birthday back in February when he turned 24.

Neymar is a huge fan of basketball, especially of superstars like Stephen Curry and Kobe Bryant, who scored 60 points in the final game of his career. Here he is paying tribute to Bryant leading up to his retirement game against the Jazz.

You have to wonder with the time difference between Spain and California if Neymar actually stayed up to watch basketball last night, and if so did he pick the Warriors over Black Mamba's farewell game?
