Soccer player Francis Kone is a hero after what he did at the weekend, but he didn’t score a crucial match winner or anything like that. He potentially saved a life.

Per Czech sports website iDNES.cz, Kone of Slovacko saved the opposing goalkeeper after he was knocked unconscious after colliding with a teammate. The Togo-born forward put his fingers into Martin Berkovec’s mouth to make sure he didn’t swallow his tongue after it looked like he was having a seizure.

The player then expressed his gratitude for receiving quick help from Kone.

Chtel bych timto podekovat Kone Francis za zachranu a pohotovost pri dnesnim zapase...jsem rad za okamzitou pomoc a jeste jednou DĚKUJU!!!

I have as much medical knowledge as Cosmo Kramer has work experience, but according to WebMD it is impossible to swallow your tongue and choke. Still, you have to credit Kone for his quick reaction. That shows someone who cares about the well being of others, something every person in the world should try.

Respect.
