USWNT star Carli Lloyd doesn't think controversial goalkeeper Hope Solo deserved her six-month suspension and contract termination for the coward comments regarding Sweden. Speaking on "The Rich Eisen Show," the world cup hero backed her former teammate and friend, praising her competitiveness and skill, but also saying that the comments about Sweden alone didn't warrant the punishment, saying rather that it was just one of many things that led to it.

After the U.S. was stunned in the Olympic quarterfinals this past summer, Solo went off after the match, calling out the Europeans for their style of play and calling them cowards. Here's what Lloyd said on the show.

She has a point. And U.S. Soccer has made this clear. The coward comments are what cemented it, but the suspension really appears to come from her cumulative bad choices over the years.

There are the coward comments, her calling out coaches in the past, she was arrested in 2014 for domestic violence assault and various other incidents.

Do you agree with Carli? Were the coward comments not a big deal or did they warrant a suspension alone?
