Canelas 2010, an infamous fourth-tier club in Portugal known for roughing up players on opposing teams, will be without one of its strikers for a very long time due to an incident involving a referee.

In a match against Rio Tinto, Canelas striker Marco Goncalves assaulted the referee, kneeing the official in the face before being escorted by police officers out of the field. Goncalves was issued a four-year ban from the sport, according to BBC. Here's video of that incident:

A little background on Canelas: the club is currently sitting at the top of fourth division thanks to its intimidating players. What do I mean by that? Well, members and fans of FC Porto's "Super Dragons" ultras make up the roster. As a result, opposing teams have not shown up to the majority of games against Canelas, forfeiting the matches out of fear of getting injured by the hooligan players. That's crazy. Can you blame them? What's more, the amateur side has been branded as "thugs and butchers" by a rival manager.

For what it's worth, "canelas" in Portuguese also translates to "shins" in English -- probably a hint as to what happens to the legs of opposing players during intense challenges involving members of Canelas.
