U.S. women to play Japan, New Zealand and Finland

CHICAGO -- The U.S. women's soccer team will play exhibition games against Japan, New Zealand and Finland before it heads to the World Cup.

The Americans meet Japan on July 28 at San Jose, Calif., New Zealand on Aug. 12 at Chicago and Finland on Aug. 25 at Carson, Calif., as part of their Sendoff Series, the U.S. Soccer Federation said Thursday.

Previously, the teams announced games against Canada on May 12 at Frisco, Texas; China on July 16 at Cleveland; Brazil on June 23 at East Rutherford, N.J.; and Norway on July 14 at East Hartford, Conn.

The Women's World Cup is scheduled for Sept. 10-30 in China. The draw is set for Sunday in Wuhan.
