BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. -- The Chicago Fire released midfielder Pascal Bedrossian on Wednesday and midfielder Ivan Guerrero obtained his green, opening up two senior international spots for the team.
Bedrossian joined the Fire in August from Angers SCO of the French Second Division. He had been hampered by injuries since joining the club and played in seven games, with two starts.
Guerrero has been a mainstay in Chicago's starting lineup since joining the Fire in 2005. He has two goals in 64 games. Obtaining a green card means Guerrero loses his senior international status.
Chicago (4-6-2) has been looking for players to help an ailing team. Chilean Marcelo Salas is among those who have had a workout with the team.
