U.S. to open Olympic qualifying against Cuba

CHICAGO -- The United States will open its Olympic qualifying group against Cuba on March 11 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.

Soccer's North and Central American and Caribbean governing body also said Wednesday that the United States will face Panama on March 13 and finish Group A play in Tampa against Guatemala on March 15.

In Group B, Mexico, Canada, Guatemala and Haiti will play in Carson, Calif.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the semifinals in Nashville, Tenn., on March 20, and the semifinal winners will represent the region in the 16-nation field in Beijing. The final and third-place game will be in Nashville on March 23.
