Presented by Epson

CARSON, Calif. (AP) -The Los Angeles Galaxy acquired midfielder Joe Franchino from the New England Revolution on Friday for a second-round pick in 2009.

Franchino began his career with the Galaxy in 1998 and spent 2 1/2 years with them before joining the Revolution midway through the 2000 season. He has five goals and 23 assists in 211 regular-season games and 25 postseason games.

To make room for Franchino, the Galaxy moved defender Michael Gavin to their developmental roster as a senior developmental player.
