TURIN, Italy (AP) -Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta will miss the final two games of the season with a muscle injury.
Iaquinta had a sonogram recently that showed he is healing well, but he will not return to play this season since Juventus cannot improve on its third-place standings and also cannot fall to fourth, the team said Thursday on its Web site.
The medical staff of Italy's national team has been informed of the situation with Iaquinta's injury, Juventus said.
It is not yet clear if the injury will put Iaquinta, who has scored eight goals in the Serie A this season, at risk for not being called up for next month's European Championship.
