D.C. United's Olsen has another ankle surgery

WASHINGTON -- D.C. United midfielder Ben Olsen has undergone another ankle surgery and is expected to be sidelined at least four to eight weeks.

Olsen had the arthroscopic procedure Monday, in which two screws were inserted in his left ankle to treat a stress reaction.

Olsen, 31, has been hobbled by ankle problems for several years and had multiple operations during the offseason. He has played only once this season, as a second-half substitute in a 4-1 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy on June 29.
