BLACKBURN, England (AP) -Blackburn accepted a bid Wednesday for former United States goalkeeper Brad Friedel, but said the transfer was conditional on another club accepting its offer for a replacement.
Both Aston Villa and Manchester City have been hoping to sign the 37-year-old Friedel, while Rovers have been linked with Tottenham's Paul Robinson.
Villa has already agreed to a fee with Chivas USA for United States goalkeeper Brad Guzan, but the English team is waiting for a British work permit to be granted.
