Dynamo acquire forward Kamara from Earthquakes for draft pick, cash

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The Houston Dynamo acquired forward Kei Kamara from the San Jose Earthquakes on Thursday for a first-round draft pick next year and cash.

The expansion Earthquakes didn't specify the amount of "allocation money" received for Kamara, who scored two goals in 12 games with San Jose this season, including 11 starts.

San Jose is by far MLS' worst offensive team, scoring just 11 goals in 17 games. No other team has fewer than 17, keeping the Quakes (3-9-5) at the bottom of the Western Conference despite allowing just 22 goals.

Houston, the two-time defending MLS champion, is in second place (5-4-8).
