Henry dropped from Barcelona squad for league game

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) -Thierry Henry was dropped from FC Barcelona's squad for the Spanish league game with Racing Santander on Saturday.

Coach Pep Guardiola omitted Henry and defender Sylvinho for the match at Camp Nou stadium following the team's training session on Saturday.

Henry started Barcelona's opening league game of the season, but gave a disappointing display in his team's 1-0 defeat at promoted Numancia two weeks ago.

Since joining the Catalan club last year, the France forward has largely failed to recapture the form he showed by becoming the all-time leading scorer at Arsenal.

Henry captained France in World Cup qualifying on Wednesday, scoring a goal in a 2-1 win over Serbia that is regarded as having kept beleaguered coach Raymond Domenech in his job.
