Hearts beats Inverness to go second

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) -Saulius Mikoliunas gave Hearts a 1-0 victory over Inverness on Saturday to send his team up to second in the Scottish standings.

The victory gave the Jambos 12 points from six games, with Rangers, Celtic and Kilmarnock not playing until Sunday. Rangers goes into its home game against Motherwell with 13 from five and Celtic visits fourth-place Kilmarnock with both teams on 10 from five.

Hibernian now has 10 from six after winning 1-0 at Hamilton thanks to a 39th-minute strike by Derek Riordan.

Dundee United won 1-0 at Aberdeen for its first league victory in 13 games thanks to a blunder by Dons striker Tommy Wright. He handled a corner in his own area early in the second half and Francisco Sandaza scored from the penalty spot.

In Saturday's other game, St. Mirren and Falkirk drew 1-1. Graham Barrett headed last-place Falkirk ahead in the 47th minute but Billy Mehmet's penalty two minutes later earned a point for the Buddies.
