CARSON, California (AP) -Los Angeles Galaxy forward Landon Donovan has joined Bayern Munich on loan during the Major League Soccer offseason.
Donovan's loan began Monday and he is scheduled to return on March 8, two weeks before the Galaxy opens the season against D.C. United on March 22.
Donovan scored a career-high 20 goals in 25 games last season to lead the MLS. He began his professional career with Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen.
His teammate, David Beckham, is currently on loan with AC Milan.
