Galaxy acquire forward Eskandarian from Chivas

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Galaxy acquired forward Alecko Eskandarian from Chivas USA in exchange for allocation money and a conditional 2010 draft pick.

Eskandarian, an MLS All-Star in 2004 and 2006, had six goals in 18 games with Chivas since being acquired from Real Salt Lake in January 2008. He had one goal in seven games this season.

Drafted first overall out of Virginia by D.C. United in 2003, Eskandarian was the MVP of the 2004 MLS Cup.

The Galaxy also terminated the contract of midfielder Josh Tudela.
