MANCHESTER, England -- Claudio Reyna's comeback from a leg injury didn't last long.
The U.S. captain, who had been sidelined since Sept. 18, reinjured his left quadriceps Saturday during Manchester City's 1-1 tie against Blackburn Rovers.
Reyna entered in the 65th minute and completed the game but felt the injury.
"We had done everything right with him, but he told me that he felt it again after five minutes of going on," Manchester City manager Kevin Keegan said Monday. "He didn't want to come off, as players obviously don't like leaving the field of play after they have just gone on.
"We will have to see how long he will be out for, but it is a major blow again, and we will have to take it on the chin."
The United States already has clinched a spot in the regional finals of World Cup qualifying, which start Feb. 9.
