TOKYO (AP) -- Masaki Fukai and Mitsuo Ogasawara both scored Sunday as Kashima Antlers defeated Jubilo Iwata 2-1 to widen their lead atop the J-League soccer standings.
Fukai opened the scoring less than two minutes in when he beat Jubilo goalkeeper Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi, and Ogasawara doubled the lead in the 18th minute.
Yoshiaki Ota pulled one back for Jubilo after the break but the visitors were unable to equalize before the final whistle and fell to 15th place in the 18-team top flight.
Kashima, meanwhile, opened up a commanding five-point at the top of the standings while defending champions Yokohama F Marinos fell eight points off the pace after a 2-1 loss to Omiya Ardija.
Brazilian Tuto gave Omiya the lead from the penalty spot in the 49th minute before Daisuku Oku equalized with a penalty of his own shortly after the hour mark.
Naoto Sakurai scored the winner just before the final whistle as newly promoted Omiya snapped a three-match losing streak.
