MANCHESTER, England (AP) -Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson called on soccer's law makers Tuesday to embrace video technology.
Ferguson's comments came after he said his team was affected by two incorrect decisions in its FA Cup win over Portsmouth on Saturday.
Nemanja Vidic had a goal disallowed when referees ruled the ball did not cross the goal line in the first half. Later, Henrik Larsson was ruled offsides when TV replays appeared to show he was not.
"I am not a cricket fan or a rugby fan but I have noticed how these sports have changed over the years to improve decision making," Ferguson told Manchester United Radio. "Football has to open its eyes a bit wider because the people running the game are resisting the introduction of technology in every possible way."
FIFA prohibits national associations from taking any further action on incidents seen by the referee, even if the original ruling is incorrect.

BLACKBURN, England (AP) - Switzerland defender Bruno Berner has signed with Blackburn from FC Basel.
The 29-year-old Berner joins Ewood Park on an 18-month deal, with Blackburn having an option for an additional year.
Berner is ineligible to play in the UEFA Cup after appearing for Basel in the tournament last November. The Zurich-born defender spent a week training with Rovers before being signed.
