It's been an exciting, ugly and unpredictable start for the United States.

Good thing Red, White and Blue is up 1-0 on Ghana, because there's been two injuries to two significant American players through 45 minutes.

First, Jozy Altidore went down with a hamstring strain in the 19th minute. His return for this game is off the table.

And in the 32nd minute, Clint Dempsey was taken out momentarily by a shin to the face from Ghana defenseman John Boye. Dempsey's already a fan favorite -- and he scored USA's first goal just 32 seconds into this game -- but getting knocked around like this will only endear him to the U.S. fans even further.
