LOOK: Messi missed Argentina's semifinal celebration for drug test
Lionel Messi was in the last place he wanted to be after his side beat the Dutch 4-2 on penalty kicks.
Instead of celebrating Argentina's 4-2 penalty kick win over the Netherlands with his teammates, Lionel Messi was getting drug tested as part of a routine FIFA prodcedure.
Yep, Messi, who drilled his first-round penalty kick, missed out on sharing the moment with his teammates because FIFA wanted to ensure the World Cup's best player wasn't cheating. We know this because Messi shared the photo from inside the office.
"I've been called for doping control and I can't be enjoying the moment in the dressing room. I feel proud to be part of this team! Phenomenons every one of them! What a game they had. This is crazy. We're in the final! Let's enjoy this, a hug to all of Argentina, we have just one step left."
Way to go, FIFA. It's just the first time Argentina has made it to the finals since 1990, so I'm sure Messi won't be too disappointed.
