Robin Van Persie flying header memorialized by mural in Brazil
A painting in Brazil depicts the Dutchman's amazing goal against Spain.
Netherlands striker Robin Van Persie scored one the best goals of this year's World Cup. It inspired a Twitter movement -- #persieing -- which even reached Holland's elderly set. And now, in Rio de Janeiro, the play is on display in the form of a mural.
And Van Persie himself approves.
Im very honoured with this art piece in Brazil. Proud to be decorating a wall in Rio. Compliments to the artist!! pic.twitter.com/R92UytWZAr— Robin van Persie (@Persie_Official) July 17, 2014
So far no one has painted anything memorializing Arjen Robben's dive against Mexico in the Round of 16.
