As the old saying sort of goes, it isn't the size of the cat in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the cat. And the cougar seems to have quite a sizeable fight inside, as it tamed the much bigger tiger by a 51-49 margin. So what's up next for this crafty little cat? A matchup with the even smaller lobo, or Mexican wolf. In a bracket loaded with vicious killers like gators, lions, wolverines, rattlesnakes, and um, bulldogs, it's pretty wild that these two came out on top. Guess the NBA doesn't have the only playoff where it's becoming chic to go small.

So who wins now? It's a real crapshoot. While the lobo has coasted by on the fact that it's rather adorable, and practically extinct, the cougar has a lot more going for it. With over 40 different names, the cougar is like the Dikembe Mutombo of the wild. As for a fan base, it turns out that if you're rooting for the nittany lions, you're really rooting for the cougars. The same can be said if you like pumas, catamounts, mountain lions, deer tigers, florida panthers, mountain screamers, sneak cats, or the Arctic Monkeys.
