SPiN: What's the best, little-known fact about your school?
DeMaria: "Despite for being known as a party school, you have to study and work hard to be here."

SPiN: How long have you been cheerleading?
DeMaria: "Since fifth grade, so eight years. I got into cheerleading when my best friend convinced me to do it because I was stinking it up on softball and basketball. My first team was the Roswell Junior Hornets in Roswell, Ga."

SPiN: What's the best thing about cheerleading?
DeMaria: "All the good friends you make while having tons of fun cheering on your team. The Texas A&M game was a ton of fun, it was my first night game at the Orange Bowl."

SPiN: What's the hardest part about cheerleading?
DeMaria: "You just have to work really hard, and in the end, it's tons of fun. You have to practice stunting, pyramids and learning the fight songs. For me, since it's my first year as a coed cheerleader, practicing with guys has been the most difficult (part about cheerleading)."

SPiN: What's the most irritating cheerleader stereotype?
DeMaria: "The most general one, that we're all dumb because clearly we're not. In our team, we have a lot of smart cheerleaders. Cheerleaders have the highest GPA among sports teams."

SPiN: Do you plan on cheerleading as a profession after college?
DeMaria: "No, I don't think so. It's something fun I do for college. After college, I have bigger plans. I want to get a job hopefully at a law firm because I'm starting the pre-law track, but nothing too specific yet because I'm not sure."

SPiN: What's your favorite movie/TV show about cheerleaders?
DeMaria: "I like Cheerleader U because it shows a lot of the hard work; the cheerleaders they have there are amazing."

SPiN: If Hollywood made a cheerleading movie and you were the star, what actress would play you?
DeMaria: "One of my favorite actresses is Reese Witherspooon because she's all preppy and peppy, like she has a good personality. I think she'll make a good cheerleader."

SPiN: What do you think about Bring It On?
DeMaria: "I think it's pretty stereotypical, but it does show the competitive aspect. It's more silly than it is real life. I definitely give it 1-2 stars."

SPiN: Who's the best looking athlete in sports and why?
DeMaria: "I think Tony Romo is the most cute, or Tom Brady, for that matter."

SPiN: What's the most difficult routine you've done as a cheerleader?
DeMaria: "Probably the competition routine when I was in competition cheerleading. It's everything combined into three minutes and the adrenaline rush was amazing when you do all that in front of a huge crowd."

SPiN: Who's the most famous person you've met?
DeMaria: "My uncle is friends with Alex Rodriguez, so I met him when I was very young, before he was a pro baseball player. I have the photos to prove it."

SPiN: What's your favorite cheer to fire up the home crowd in a close game?
DeMaria: "The one the crowd most participates in is the 'Let's Go Canes' cheer."

SPiN: Why should our readers vote for you?
DeMaria: "I guess because I have a lot of spirit and love for UM. Even though it's only my first year, I'll definitely keep cheering for the next four years and keep getting people involved in the games."
