Voting results: LSU 3 - 37%; Michigan State 2 - 13%; Michigan State 1 - 12%; Michigan 1 - 11%; Louisville 1 - 9%; LSU 2 - 5%; Michigan 2 - 3%; LSU 1 - 3%; Miami 2 - 2%; Minnesota - 2%; four cheerleaders with 1% About half of you voted for the third Kansas cheerleader, setting her on a pedestal too high for anyone else to reach. She won by sheer overwhelming numbers -- 48 percent of the vote. In comparison, second and third place Illinois and the first Kansas cheerleader received only 15 and 12 percent of the vote, respectively. Everyone else finished Week 1 in single digits. In fact, six cheerleaders each received only two percent of the vote. Georgia and Boston College both tied with one percent, but last place honors went to the Eagles. So this week, since we're going through the pile in alphabetical order, we've got two cheerleaders from Louisville, three from LSU, one from Memphis, two from Miami (Fla.), two from Michigan, three from Michigan State and one from Minnesota. And once again, if you ask yourself "Why is X school in this photo gallery but not 'Y'?" Here's a recap from last week: With five weeks left to go, I'll be posting photos of cheerleaders that didn't make it in the regular season, all for different reasons: 1. Their school already won a particular regular season week, thus eliminating every other cheerleader that came after her. (Having two cheerleaders from the same school voted into the playoffs would be problematic and unrealistic.) 2. The photos were taken during the college football bowl season, which took place at the same time as the College Cheerleader of the Week Playoffs. The rules? Since the regular season and playoffs were all for fun, the offseason is an even more casual affair since no titles are awarded after six weeks. So just pick your favorite and have fun. Voting for this week's crop of photos ends on Monday, Feb. 11 at noon EST. Official results will be posted shortly after the polls close.
