But that's exactly what happened in some of the Round 1 matchups -- a tiger was defeated by a buffalo, a dog trumped a mighty wolf and apparently Captain Fear forgot how to use his sword or even the cannons on his ship against a bird.
Once again, the rules are simple: Have fun. Don't take this tournament too seriously -- unless you've bet money or a lunch on a certain mascot over another.
Quarterfinal results will be revealed next Tuesday, June 17, along with the commencement of voting for the semifinal contestants.
