We are down to the final eight of the Most Fierce Mascot Competition and what do we have? A bird vs. a marine mammal. Ooohhh, a real scary matchup.
Most people would see lions, panthers and jaguars as the most fierce mascots in the NFL, but nope, we got a little black crow and a friendly dolphin.
Maybe dolphins aren't as friendly as we think. Look what happened on The Simpsons. Lisa let Snorky out of Marine World and they acted their revenge on the town, finally taking over Springfield.
So we know they are fierce in the mascot world, but I can't get over that 1-15 record last season. Maybe T.D. should have played some QB, and the Dolphins would have won a couple more games.
As for Poe, the 16th-seeded raven, he is making his way through the bracket with ease. Ravens are considered one of the smartest birds, so this matchup will not only be who is the most fierce, but who would do the best on a 10-question current events quiz.
I tried to set up interviews between the two mascots, but all I got was "Nevermore!" "Nevermore!" nonsense from Poe. And T.D. was worse! All this chirping, whistling, clicking sounds. I'm sure other dolphins understand it, but it was like talking to my daughter when she wants something from the refrigerator. I could stand there for two hours and still not know what she wants.
