Manager, Junior Championship Events/ USA Volleyball:
Applications are now being accepted for the position of Manager, Junior Championship Events, at USA Volleyball (the National Governing Body and member of the US Olympic Committee). Position requires strong computer, organizational and interpersonal communication skills; marketing, contract negotiation and promotion capabilities; and the ability to deal effectively with a diverse volunteer organization. A strong volleyball background with tournament administration experience is preferred. Assist in the distribution of pre-tournament information and materials, collection and verification of registrations, compilation and printing of programs and schedules, and distribution of results by various means. Assist in the seeding, results reporting and other logistical support services to the USA Junior National Championship Qualification Tournaments (presently eight such events occurring from the end of March until the end of April) and the Championship. Facilitate communication between the Junior Community, Qualifier Directors, National Championship Division Leadership, Local Host and National Office Staff. Assist in the implementation of an expanded SCOUT program for Junior Championship Events (indoor). Work with an oversight/advisory committee. This position reports to the Event Director. Position requires superior interpersonal/communication/relationship skills, excellent organizational skills, volleyball tournament administration experience, computer/Internet competency, and experience in business and/or marketing. Experience working within the USA Volleyball structure is desirable, and a good working knowledge of the junior volleyball club community is essential. BS degree or higher is preferred.
