Video: Bob Bryan goes between the legs for shot of the U.S. Open

By Brian Stubits | CBSSports.com

The shot of the U.S. Open so far hasn't come from Roger Federer or Novak Djokovic or any of the other stars of the singles game on either the men or women's side. It instead has come courtesy of doubles specialist Bob Bryan.

Or should I say shots?

With the Bryans down a set and at 5-5 in the second-set tie-breaker on Monday afternoon on the Grandstand court, Bob dug into his bag of tricks by going between the legs and making it look easy. But he didn't go through the legs in the way we've seen a few others do it before, swinging from in front of their body and hitting with their back to the net. Nope, Bryan hit the ball through his legs while facing the net, a quick reaction to a low body return.

Of course it wouldn't have meant much if the Bryans didn't finish off the point and that's exactly what Bob did, with a searing sharp-angle cross-court winner.

The brothers, who came into the tournament as the No. 2 seed but are the highest seeds left, won the second-set tie-break and then took the third set to advance over the No. 16 team Santiago Gonzalez and Scott Lipsky.

The most impressive part? Bryan made it look easy and routine. Hardly.
