| Agassi retired after 1144 matches on the ATP Tour, 60 singles titles, including 8 Grand Slam titles and 17 Masters Series, and a record 21 consecutive US Opens. He ranked among the Top 10 in 15 year-end listings (except for 1993 and '97), finishing between No. 1 and 10 at least once (except No. 5). He is the only player to rank in the Top 10 in three different decades. Jimmy Connors is the only other player to finish in the Top 10 for 16 consecutive years from 1973-88. His 30 Davis Cup singles wins is second all-time in U.S. history behind John McEnroe's 41. He compiled a 30-6 career record in the competition and helped the U.S. win their last three titles in 1990, 1992 and 1995. He also won an Olympic gold medal in Atlanta in 1996. (updated 9/4/2006) |
